# Trust & Trace

Configure signal tags, tokenizer, and trade networks to enable brand security, product authentication, and supply chain traceability.

## Understanding Trust & Trace

### Trust Features

Trust features enable:

* **Product Authentication**: Verify product authenticity
* **Brand Security**: Protect against counterfeiting
* **Supply Chain Traceability**: Track products through supply chain
* **Digital Assets**: Manage digital product representations

**Customization Tier**: TENANT\_DEFINED (fully tenant-defined, no pack defaults)

### Trust Components

* **Signal Tags**: QR codes/NFC tags for product authentication
* **Tokenizer**: Tokenize products for blockchain tracking
* **Trade Networks**: Connect to trade networks for verification
* **Digital Assets**: Digital representations of products

## Signal Tags

### Understanding Signal Tags

Signal tags are QR codes or NFC tags attached to products for authentication and traceability.

**Customization Tier**: TENANT\_DEFINED (you generate and manage all tags)

### Generating Signal Tags

1. Navigate to **Admin** → **Trust & Trace** → **Signal Tags**
2. Click **Generate Tags**
3. Configure:
   * **Product**: Select product
   * **Lot**: Select lot (optional)
   * **Quantity**: Number of tags to generate
   * **Expiration**: Tag expiration (optional)
   * **Metadata**: Additional metadata (optional)
4. Click **Generate**
5. Download tags (QR codes, labels, etc.)

### Signal Tag Types

**QR Codes**: QR code tags

* Printable QR codes
* Scannable with mobile devices
* Link to verification page

**NFC Tags**: NFC tags

* Near-field communication
* Tap to verify
* More secure than QR codes

### Signal Tag Lifecycle

1. **GENERATED**: Tag generated
2. **ACTIVATED**: Tag activated (attached to product)
3. **VERIFIED**: Tag verified (scanned/checked)
4. **REVOKED**: Tag revoked (compromised/invalid)
5. **EXPIRED**: Tag expired

### Managing Signal Tags

1. View all signal tags:
   * **Active Tags**: Currently active tags
   * **Verified Tags**: Tags that have been verified
   * **Revoked Tags**: Revoked tags
   * **Expired Tags**: Expired tags
2. Actions:
   * **Verify**: Verify tag authenticity
   * **Revoke**: Revoke compromised tag
   * **View Details**: View tag details and history

### Signal Tag Verification

1. Scan QR code or tap NFC tag
2. System verifies:
   * Tag authenticity
   * Product information
   * Lot information
   * Verification history
3. Display verification result:
   * **AUTHENTIC**: Tag is authentic
   * **REVOKED**: Tag has been revoked
   * **EXPIRED**: Tag has expired
   * **INVALID**: Tag is invalid

## Tokenizer

### Understanding Tokenizer

Tokenizer creates blockchain tokens for products to enable immutable tracking and verification.

**Customization Tier**: TENANT\_DEFINED (you configure all tokenization)

### Configuring Tokenizer

1. Navigate to **Admin** → **Trust & Trace** → **Tokenizer**
2. Configure tokenization:
   * **Enable Tokenization**: Enable/disable tokenization
   * **Blockchain Network**: Select blockchain network
   * **Token Standard**: Select token standard (ERC-721, ERC-1155, etc.)
   * **Metadata**: Token metadata configuration
3. Save configuration

### Tokenizing Products

1. Select product to tokenize
2. Configure token:
   * **Token Name**: Token name
   * **Token Symbol**: Token symbol
   * **Metadata**: Token metadata
   * **Signal Tag Link**: Link to signal tag (optional)
3. Click **Tokenize**
4. Token created on blockchain

### Token Management

1. View all tokens:
   * **Active Tokens**: Currently active tokens
   * **Transferred Tokens**: Tokens that have been transferred
   * **Burned Tokens**: Tokens that have been burned
2. Actions:
   * **Transfer**: Transfer token
   * **Burn**: Burn token
   * **View Details**: View token details and history

## Trade Networks

### Understanding Trade Networks

Trade networks connect organizations for product verification and supply chain tracking.

**Customization Tier**: TENANT\_DEFINED (you configure all network connections)

### Creating Trade Networks

1. Navigate to **Admin** → **Trust & Trace** → **Trade Networks**
2. Click **Create Network**
3. Configure:
   * **Name**: Network name
   * **Description**: Network description
   * **Type**: Network type (PRIVATE, PUBLIC, CONSORTIUM)
   * **Members**: Network members
   * **Verification Rules**: Verification rules
4. Save network

### Trade Network Types

**PRIVATE**: Private network

* Only invited members
* Controlled access
* Custom verification rules

**PUBLIC**: Public network

* Open to all
* Standard verification rules
* Public verification

**CONSORTIUM**: Consortium network

* Multiple organizations
* Shared verification rules
* Collaborative tracking

### Joining Trade Networks

1. Browse available networks
2. Request to join network
3. Network admin approves request
4. Access network features

### Network Verification

1. Submit product for verification
2. Network members verify:
   * Product authenticity
   * Supply chain history
   * Compliance status
3. Receive verification result

## Digital Assets

### Understanding Digital Assets

Digital assets are digital representations of products for blockchain and NFT use cases.

**Customization Tier**: TENANT\_DEFINED (you create all digital assets)

### Creating Digital Assets

1. Navigate to **Admin** → **Trust & Trace** → **Digital Assets**
2. Click **Create Digital Asset**
3. Configure:
   * **Product**: Select product
   * **Asset Type**: NFT, Certificate, etc.
   * **Metadata**: Asset metadata
   * **Media**: Asset media (images, videos, etc.)
   * **Blockchain**: Blockchain network
4. Save digital asset

### Digital Asset Types

**NFT**: Non-fungible token

* Unique digital asset
* Blockchain-based
* Transferable

**Certificate**: Digital certificate

* Product certificate
* Compliance certificate
* Authenticity certificate

**Document**: Digital document

* Product documentation
* Compliance documentation
* Traceability documentation

### Managing Digital Assets

1. View all digital assets:
   * **Active Assets**: Currently active assets
   * **Transferred Assets**: Assets that have been transferred
   * **Archived Assets**: Archived assets
2. Actions:
   * **Transfer**: Transfer asset
   * **Archive**: Archive asset
   * **View Details**: View asset details

## Trust Permissions

### Understanding Trust Permissions

Trust features require specific permissions:

* **traceability:view**: View traceability timelines
* **traceability:export**: Export traceability reports
* **serial:view**: View serial numbers
* **serial:manage**: Manage serial numbers
* **signal\_tag:view**: View signal tags
* **signal\_tag:verify**: Verify signal tags
* **signal\_tag:manage**: Generate and manage signal tags
* **tokenizer:view**: View tokenizer
* **tokenizer:manage**: Manage tokenization
* **trade\_network:view**: View trade networks
* **trade\_network:manage**: Manage trade networks

### Assigning Trust Permissions

1. Navigate to **Admin** → **Users & Roles**
2. Select role
3. Navigate to **Permissions** → **Trust**
4. Assign trust permissions
5. Save permissions

## What Success Looks Like

### Trust Configuration Success

* ✅ Signal tags generated and deployed
* ✅ Tokenizer configured and working
* ✅ Trade networks connected
* ✅ Digital assets created
* ✅ Verification working correctly

### Brand Security Success

* ✅ Products authenticated

## Common Pitfalls

### 1. Not Securing Signal Tags

**Problem**: Signal tags generated but not properly secured.

**Solution**: Secure signal tags:

* Use secure generation
* Protect tag secrets
* Monitor tag usage
* Revoke compromised tags

**How to avoid**: Make security part of tag generation workflow.

### 2. Not Configuring Tokenizer Properly

**Problem**: Tokenizer configured but tokens not working.

**Solution**: Configure tokenizer correctly:

* Select correct blockchain network
* Use appropriate token standard
* Configure metadata properly
* Test tokenization

**How to avoid**: Make testing part of tokenizer setup.

### 3. Not Managing Trade Networks

**Problem**: Trade networks created but not actively managed.

**Solution**: Manage trade networks:

* Monitor network activity
* Verify network members
* Update verification rules
* Review network health

**How to avoid**: Make network management part of regular admin tasks.

### 4. Not Monitoring Verification

**Problem**: Verification features enabled but not monitored.

**Solution**: Monitor verification:

* Track verification rates
* Review verification failures
* Monitor tag usage
* Analyze verification patterns

**How to avoid**: Make monitoring part of trust feature management.

## Troubleshooting

### Signal Tags Not Generating

**Symptoms**: Unable to generate signal tags.

**Possible causes:**

1. Permissions insufficient
2. Product not configured
3. System error
4. Configuration issue

**Steps to resolve:**

1. Check user permissions
2. Verify product configuration
3. Review system logs
4. Check tokenizer configuration

### Tokenization Failing

**Symptoms**: Tokenization attempts failing.

**Possible causes:**

1. Blockchain network issue
2. Tokenizer not configured
3. Metadata invalid
4. Network connection issue

**Steps to resolve:**

1. Check blockchain network status
2. Verify tokenizer configuration
3. Review metadata format
4. Check network connection

### Trade Network Not Working

**Symptoms**: Trade network created but not functioning.

**Possible causes:**

1. Network not active
2. Members not approved
3. Verification rules incorrect
4. Network connection issue

1. Verify network is active
2. Check member approvals
3. Review verification rules
4. Test network connection
